2020 biennial GAC conference

The Gothenburg Air and Climate Network (GAC) traditionally holds a biennial research conference. This year we have combined with Gothenburg Centre for Sustainable Development (GMV) and the Act Sustainable Research Conference and due to COVID restrictions host our side-event online on Tuesday, November, 24 from 09.00-12.00.

Given the year of missed opportunities for in-person meetings, this biennial will focus on the network and bringing together the Gothenburg community of Air and Climate research. We will have 3 keynote speakers presenting exciting new research paths and breakout activities to let young (and old) researchers hear from other environments.

09.45 Keynote speaker Prof. Isaac Rodrigues Dos Santos, University of Gothenburg

Prof. Isaac Rodrigues Dos Santos is from the University of Gothenburg¿s Department of Marine Sciences and works on many things related to groundwater and surface water hydrology.

10.10 Keynote speaker Prof. Filip Johnsson, Chalmers University
¿Storing Carbon Dioxide ¿ obstacles and opportunities¿
Prof. Filip Johnsson from the Chalmers Department of Space, Earth and Environment does research with a focus on how to minimize the climate effects of our energy needs, use, consumption, and system.

"Consequences of tundra vegetation change for ecosystem functioning and vegetation-climate feedbacks"
Dr. Anne Bjorkman from the University of Gothenburg¿s Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences is a plant ecologist with research that focuses on the impact of humans on natural communities.
